I am solidly and firmly of the Barbie generation. I loved my collection of them. When I inherited a giant stash of them, PLUS accessories!!!, from a babysitter I thought I had won the lottery. For me, Barbie was and is the ultimate icon…she’s had over 50 (fifty!) different careers and did it all in style. When I went freelance almost eight years ago now, I received an “Entrepreneur Barbie” in a blogger gift bag (yes, I’m a recovering home décor blogger) and she immediately became my office mascot. She remains on my desk in my studio, constantly acting as a source of inspiration. It was a no brainer to paint and celebrate this childless hero.
